If the app can't confirm your location
Every regulated Ontario site has to confirm you're in Ontario before you play. 888's help centre gives these steps when the check fails:
- Update the app whenever it asks you to.
- Turn on Wi-Fi, even if you're on mobile data. You don't need to connect: 888 says your device should be able to see at least 2 other Wi-Fi networks.
- On a phone, turn on GPS and make sure you have good cell coverage.
- Close any VPN, proxy or remote desktop program, then log in again.
- In a tall building, try a lower floor, since height can affect accuracy.
