Our sources
We start with official and first-party sources:
- The AGCO's Registrar's Standards for Internet Gaming, for the rules every regulated site must follow
- iGaming Ontario's directory of regulated sites and its pages for players
- Each operator's own Ontario pages, terms, help centre and app store listings
- Support teams, which we email with the questions a new player would ask. Our customer support test shows what they told us
- Game developers' own pages, for figures such as RTP
- Government and legal sources, such as the Criminal Code and the Canada Revenue Agency
For court decisions and industry partnerships, we also use law firm and trade publications, and we name them on the page.
Which sites we list
A site has to be run by an AGCO-registered operator and appear in iGaming Ontario's directory before we look at anything else. We check our list against the directory and show the date we last did. Our ranking criteria are on the home page.
How we check facts
- Each review and guide lists the sources behind it.
- Before a page goes live, we check every fact against those sources, including numbers, dates and what each rule requires.
- Each review and guide shows the date its facts were last checked, and we update that date when we check them again.
- Payment methods, limits and terms can change, so we point you to each site's own cashier and terms for the latest details.
How we use AI
We use AI tools to help with research and drafting. AI can get facts wrong, so nothing goes live until each fact has been checked against the sources listed on the page.
We don't publish pages in bulk, and we never make up reviews, testers or experiences.
Corrections
If you spot a mistake, email info@onlineslotsontario.ca with the page and what's wrong. We check it against our sources and, if it's wrong, fix the page and update its date.
Commercial relationships
We earn commissions from some of the sites we list, which can affect which sites we feature and their order. Commissions never change the facts we report, and we only list regulated sites. Read our advertiser disclosure.
